We’re excited to announce the Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire on September 20, 2014. This free, family-friendly event will be held at the Main Branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, and everyone is invited!
If you are a Maker – that is, if you have a hobby that involves creating, crafting, or otherwise “making” – we’d love to have you involved. To join our Faire as a Maker, visit this page.

Our Shapeoko build event was a great success! Check out these photos from July 19 of members of our staff and some of our patrons collaborating on building this new 3D milling machine that we will be adding to our Makerspace soon.

Lighting makes an event, and candles transform the mundane into the extraordinary. These glass jar lanterns are beautiful hanging from a tree, or from a chain across a deck. Pick any jar you like, then bend a snug-fitting cage of wire on a custom-made jig. The technique makes it easy to mass-produce a large number of lanterns in a short time.
