Make of the Month: Jam Jar Lanterns

EBRPL Make

make  /māk
Verb: Form (something) by putting parts together or combining substances; construct; create.

You can find so many creative project ideas through the library collection. One of the most interesting resources we have is MAKE Magazine. It is full of ideas and projects of all kinds/

Here is our Make of the Month courtesy of the good folks at Makezine.com. If you try this project, please let us know – we’d love to see pictures! Post them on social media using #ebrpl. If you have ideas for other projects, post those too!

Lighting makes an event, and candles transform the mundane into the extraordinary. These glass jar lanterns are beautiful hanging from a tree, or from a chain across a deck. Pick any jar you like, then bend a snug-fitting cage of wire on a custom-made jig. The technique makes it easy to mass-produce a large number of lanterns in a short time. See the full project at Makezine.com.
