The celebration of our One Book One Community read, Charles Dicken’s Oliver Twist continues this month with some fantastic events.

March 4, 3:00 p.m., Main Library: Dr. Sharon Weltman of LSU’s Department of English will discuss the character Fagin.

March 8, 11:00 a.m., Zachary Branch: Oliver Twist Book Discussion.

March 10, 2:30 p.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch: Watch the musical Oliver! Following the movie, take pictures standing behind our 19th century photo stand ins.

March 12, 10:30 a.m., Baker Branch: Oliver Twist Book Discussion.

March 14, 7:00 p.m., Bluebonnet Regional Branch: Join Dr. Elsie Michie of LSU’s Department of English for a talk about Oliver Twist and its historical context.

March 15, 6:30 p.m., Main Library: Screening of the movie Oliver!

March 18, 2:30 p.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch: Screening of Oliver & Company. Following the movie, take pictures standing behind our 19th century photo stand ins.

March 24, 2:30 p.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch: Jolly Old London Walking Tour. Followed by tea and scones!

March 25, 3:00 p.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch: A Dickens of a Concert: Hear songs and poems about Oliver Twist.

March 31, 10:30 a.m., Pride-Chaneyville Branch: Oliver Twist Book Discussion.

March 31, 1:00 p.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch: Students from McKinley Middle Magnet Drama Program will perform skits from Oliver Twist.

March 31, 2:00 p.m., Jones Creek Regional Branch: Hear and sing along to the songs of the musical Oliver!
