To celebrate the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation’s Blues week, we are sponsoring a series of hour-long lectures at the Carver Branch. The perfect way to whet your appetite for some great music this weekend!

May 3, Noon: Maxine Crump will talk about the history and state of blues music today in Louisiana.

May 4, Noon: Ed Markham will discuss the 1964 blues film classic And This is Free: The Life and Times of Chicago’s Legendary Maxwell Street.

May 5, Noon: Everett Parker will discuss the gospel in blues, with a live demonstration and audience participation.
