In 2004 an oral history project began with a mission to record the history and personalities of the U.S. House of Representatives. This ongoing program contains fascinating stories and anecdotes, both audio and video, along with photographs and biographies. There are currently 9 House employee interviews in the archive, which will be expanding.

One of the best anecdotes is an eyewitness account of the shooting in the House Chamber in 1954 by Bill Goodwin, a page at the time.
